French cars ? at least, those of the deco and streamline eras ? are renowned for their innate artistry and their aesthetic excellence, so it stands to reason not only that they be curated in a museum as pieces of artwork themselves, but that they be displayed alongside relevant sculptures and paintings. The Mullin Automotive Museum already took care of the former goal when it opened a few years back, and now it has added a Galerie d?Arts to celebrate the art of the French automobile.
Featuring items from the Peter and Merle Mullin personal art collection, the display includes pieces from artists such as Rembrandt Bugatti, Geo Ham, Tom Hale, and Rene Lalique. ?I see the gallery as one of our most valuable additions to the museum to date,? museum founder Peter Mullin said in a press release. ?It provides visitors with even greater insight into the way that art, design, and engineering interact and how the explosion of creativity and mobility in the 1920s and 1930s continues to influence us today.?
The Galerie d?Arts officially opened in November and is expected to display a rotation of artwork from the Mullin collection. Entrance to the galerie is included with museum admission. For more information, visit MullinAutomotiveMuseum.com.
