MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) ? The mother of a Morgantown man suspected of killing five people and injuring two more before committing suicide says he'd long struggled with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Tammy Konchesky tells the Dominion Post (http://bit.ly/p51XcK) that 22-year-old Shayne Riggleman wasn't taking his medications. But she doesn't know why he would kill five people as police allege.
Police say he shot the five in a rural home near Morgantown. The victims include a 17-year-old who a family friend says had begun dating Riggleman's ex-girlfriend.
Police say Riggleman also ran down a Pennsylvania woman and shot a West Virginia gas station attendant, seriously injuring both, before driving to Kentucky and taking his own life.
Konchesky says she understands friends of the victims are angry.
Konchesky wasn't answering her phone Thursday.
